ANZIC is looking for vibrant and passionate individuals to join the renowned ANZIC Science Committee. If you have a keen interest in international and interdisciplinary research, a love for collaboration, and a desire to help unravel the Earth’s mysteries, this is the opportunity for you!
Our Science Committee has oversight of ANZIC’s scientific program, including setting criteria and assessing and ranking applications for expeditions, post-expedition support, legacy projects, training initiatives and workshops.
ANZIC celebrates a spectrum of perspectives! Our committee is rich in diversity, welcoming applicants from various backgrounds and career stages.

The Science Committee: scientific oversight
As a member of the Science Committee you will:
- evaluate and rank potential ANZIC participants in scientific drilling projects in accordance with program policies and guidelines
- refine criteria for ANZIC’s post-drilling and legacy project support, and review and rank applications to ensure appropriate funding for these projects
- set criteria, evaluate, and rank applications for additional scientific funding opportunities provided by ANZIC (e.g. for workshop travel or training).
- ensure effective scientific governance of ANZIC by participating in quarterly Science Committee meetings, yearly forums and by joining an ANZIC science sub-committee.
